I love the people at Turning Point. I’ve lost my family but this place is like family to me.
Before coming here, I lived in a group home and then moved into Turning Point’s transitional living program, but I always dreamed of having my own apartment. My case manager at Turning Point helped make that dream come true.
I do lots of good, important work in therapy and I love the groups that I participate in. In the self esteem group, we talk about assertiveness and appropriate behavior. I’ve lost 20 pounds with the help of the walking and stretching group. I have an article coming out in the newsletter group’s next issue.
I’ve met a lot of goals and I still have more goals to meet. There’s always more work to do. I’m a lot calmer than I used to be and I’ve made progress not just in therapy but in being a better person.
I’ve made so many friends here. If I won the lottery, I would still keep coming to Turning Point. It lifts my spirits to be here.
I've met a lot of goals and I still have more goals to meet. There's always more work to do."
