Turning Point launches new location in Evanston

TURNING POINT EXPANDS ITS LIVING ROOM PROGRAM TO EVANSTON

Providing free and walk-in mental health crisis support, the new Turning Point Living Room site in Evanston opened on October 1, 2024 at 311 Elmwood Avenue, conveniently located right next to Ascension Saint Francis Hospital.

There will be a community OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am – Noon. Please join us!

Immediate support, when you need it, free of charge.

An extension of Turning Point’s successful Living Room program in Skokie, the Living Room in Evanston offers an expertly staffed, calm and comfortable environment for adults experiencing crisis.

This new Living Room location is located just south of Ascension St. Francis Hospital and will operate every day from Noon to 8 pm.

Free of charge and available on a walk-in basis, the Living Room provides an alternative to hospital emergency rooms while delivering the expert and compassionate care that has distinguished Turning Point Behavioral Health for over 50 years.

Recently, Turning Point hosted a launch event for this new location. We were honored to welcome as guest speakers U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, State Senator Laura Fine, and Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss. The event received the following media coverage:

In the Living Room, trained recovery support specialists with personal experience in managing the challenges of mental illness collaborate with licensed therapists to provide crisis intervention, support, and mentoring. To offer a wide range of supports, Turning Point has partnered with trusted colleague organizations, PEER Services and Impact Behavioral Health Partners, to also offer employment assistance and support for substance use concerns. Beyond these key partners, a wide range of supports are available through Turning Point’s expansive network.

When you visit the Living Room, you step into a warm and welcoming environment, staffed by a team that is well trained to help and support you.

Turning Point is grateful for the support of its many partners on this project including the City of Evanston and Ascension Saint Francis Hospital, with the support of Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, State Senator Laura Fine, and Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss.  To read Mayor Biss’ 2022 statement on the launch of this exciting new collaboration, please click HERE.
