Living Room QMHP
Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center seeks individuals to serve in our Living Room Program as Living Room QMHP. The QMHP is a member of Turning Point’s crisis intervention team providing crisis intervention and support to guests of The Living Room. This position requires being available to work during Living Room hours and is a 40-hour/week full-time position. The Living Room is a nonclinical alternative to a Hospital Emergency Department for people experiencing acute psychiatric crisis. Due to the staffing structure of The Living Room, it is crucial that notice of anticipated absences be given as soon as possible so that coverage can be obtained. The Living Room QMHP is a non-exempt employee, required to turn in weekly timecards documenting actual hours worked.
Individuals with flexibility in their schedules who are open to straddling two shifts are highly desired.
Providing crisis intervention and support to guests of The Living Room includes (but is not limited to):
Conducting a Living Room Intake/Assessment
Determine need for crisis intervention, crisis de-escalation and resource assistance
Review available entitlement programs the guest may be eligible for
Assist guests with applications for applicable entitlement programs online
Document all visitor contacts
Update Living Room database
Complete notes in EMR
The Living Room QMHP functions as both a Shift Lead and provides QMHP coverage as needed. The QMHP assists the Program Director and the coordinators with the day-to-day operation of TLR by serving as a shift lead. The QMHP will participate in weekly team meetings and when serving as a shift lead, ensure all RSS staff complete their required paperwork. The QMHP will be available to provide backup for consultation purposes to all members of the TLR while they are working. All Living Room QMHP work is onsite.
This position requires some flexibility with one’s work schedule and must be available to work during Living Room hours, including coverage of a shift on either Saturdays or Sundays. The Living Room is scheduled to expand to a 24/7/365 service ASAP. Late night and/or overnight shifts may be required, and a shift differential will apply. At this time, we are only recruiting for the second and third shifts, from 3:30 pm-12 am and from 11:30 pm-8 am.
The Living Room QMHP has a minimum education requirement of a master’s degree and is expected to pursue licensure in an appropriate timeframe.
