Intake. Clients call the intake line (847-933-0051, ext 424) to schedule intake appointments. If you want to make a direct referral or a client has special needs of some kind, feel free to contact the Intake Coordinator, Emily Bates, at 847-933-0051, ext 455. At this appointment the client meets with an intake worker to give information on reasons for seeking treatment, etc. The client also meets with our client services coordinator to sign paperwork and discuss fees/service options. The client is then placed on the waiting list for the requested service.
Once assigned the client will be receiving one or more of the following services:
Mental health counseling. Services can be provided for individuals, couples, or families. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, General Assistance, and some private insurance. We have a fee scale for clients who do not have insurance. Services cost a minimum of $45 per hour of treatment. These fees are based on income and go up to $150.
Case management. Medicaid and General Assistance will also cover case management services. For Medicare, private insurance, and self pay clients the case management rate is a flat $75/hour.
Psychiatric services. We provide psych services for clients who also have ongoing therapy or case management services. Client’s can be referred to psych once they have completed a mental health assessment and treatment plan with their individual therapist or case manager. This process usually takes 6-8 weeks after the first meeting with the assigned therapist. For unfunded clients, the initial evaluation is $180. Follow up appointments are $90.
Psychosocial rehabilitation. We provide a variety of PSR groups that focus on life skills and management for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. These clients must also have a therapist or case manager. Similar to psychiatric services, clients are referred to this program after completing a mental health assessment and treatment plan with either a therapist or case manager. It usually takes about 6-8 weeks/sessions with the therapist or case manager before someone is referred to the program. Medicaid will cover PSR groups. Out of pocket these groups cost $16/group.
Triage. This is a program designed for clients who do not have Medicaid and can’t afford our current fees. Clients pay the $15 for the intake appointment. They then put on a specific Triage waiting list and assigned to our Triage worker, Kate. Kate meets with them for 2-4 sessions to complete a mental health assessment. These sessions are free. When the assessment is complete the triage worker and myself determine if the client is eligible for 5 case management sessions to apply for things like Medicaid or a link card. If the client is not eligible, they are referred to outpatient groups (depression, etc) which cost $16/group and run in 12 week intervals. The clients may also be referred to other services that are appropriate for them through the Triage program. Additional funding through grants or donations can be requested for unfunded clients to get additional free services (like some free therapy sessions or a psychiatric evaluation) by the Triage worker or a case manager.
Group therapy. A variety of outpatient groups are currently awaiting members so they can start. Many of these have been developed in response to the funding cuts we recently received. If clients are only interested in groups they go through the triage system. If they want both individual therapy and groups they will initially be assigned a therapist and then referred to groups.
