Please join us for an Open House to learn about The Living Room: A Mental Health Crisis Respite Program on Friday, October 28, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Turning Point is pioneering a revolutionary new approach to mental health crisis care in Illinois called The Living Room, which is expected to save taxpayers an estimated half-million dollars a year in fewer emergency room visits. This comfortable, inviting space offers an alternative to more intensive intervention. The goal of the program is to provide a calm and safe environment for adults experiencing psychiatric emergencies. We are eager to share this innovative new program with you and our community.
Ribbon-cutting at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by brief remarks from Turning Point CEO Ann Fisher Raney, as well as others. State Representatives Lou Lang and Daniel Biss are expected to attend, as well as Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) administrators, Turning Point staff and clients.
Entrance to the Living Room is on Skokie Boulevard, and parking is available in the rear of the building. Turning Point is located just south of Main Street across from the Taco Bell on Skokie Boulevard.
